here's a review of the pompey gig, its a bit late still getting over the hastings gig last night.
the wedgewood rooms is a sell out, twenty minutes to get a drink, catch a bit of the support act not bad.
at about ten'o'clock on come joe and the boys, start with shaktar donetsk then straight into bhindee bhagee, sound is spot on. 'on the route of a 19 bus' is greeted with a massive cheer and then on to yalla yalla mega bottle ride and then the best version of white man i've heard since the clash days, after tony adams we are treated to the world premier of a brand new song dakar meantime (excellent). by now the crowd are really getting into it coma girl another new one is already a classic as is get down moses i fought the law brings things to a close, only for about 5 minutes though!
back they come to thunderous applause,scott takes the bass, simon now on trombone and wer'e into bankrobber last up is a raucous version of london's burning amazing!
