  1. November, 2002 Global Boombox Video Clips - 6 video clips from Joe Strummer's Global Boom Box with Dick Rude. These clips are taken from the complete show which was aired on MTV2 in November of 2002. Joe and Dick filmed these on location in New York City. This was to be a pilot show for an on-going series.

  3. January 28, 2002 - Video of Joe Strummer presenting the "Critics Award" to Baaba Maal at the BBC Radio 3 World Music Awards. This webcast comes in two separate parts. Joe is in the second part. When this opens on your media player (whether that is Real Player or another type), you'll need to drag the timer bar to the end of part 1 and part 2 will automatically start. You can find Joe at approximately the 19th minute of the second part. When you go to the 19th minute, a woman will be presenting the nominees. After the nominees are presented on the big screen, she will announce Joe who comes out and says a few words before announcing the winner.

  4. November 20, 1999 - Video of the Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros show in Toronto, Canada in November 1999. The quality of this one is not very good as far as non-stop streaming. It is very choppy and mainly you get a moving picture type show. The sound quality is very good however and the show is well worth a viewing if you've never seen it before.   2. July 31, 2001 - Joe discusses making "Global A Go-Go" and his like of the work of Manu Chao among other topics. Click on the microphone symbols to hear different parts of the interview.

  3. Post "Global" - A must see interview on "Global A Go-Go" from the Netherlands. This one shows Joe in top form talking about the making of "Global" is an excellent and funny interview overall.

  4. October 31, 2000 - Joe Strummer wins the "Q" Magazine Inspiration Award. This is his acceptance speech in which he thanks the other members of The Clash and encourages people to see the Who that Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros had opened for the previous night.

  5. October 20, 1999 - Joe discusses "Rock Art and the X-Ray Style" in a 12 minute video interview where he talks about their goal of "making a record worth having" as well as enjoying his 10 year break. Every Strummer fan should see this video interview.

Audio Shows

  1. October 20, 2001 & October 12, 2001 WDOA.com Radio Show - This is an hour long radio show done by a DJ in Worcester, MA who interviewed Joe at the show in that city on October 12th. He plays an entire Clash & Meskys playlist and Joe's interview is in the middle. The quality can be bad a times as the room that he is interviewing in gets very noisy, but all in all it's worth a listen. Joe discusses politics (September 11th) as well as how the tour was going at that point.

  2. July 30, 2001 WFMU Playlist and Radio show from Joe Strummer guest DJ session - This is a show from a NYC area radio station from when Joe Strummer was the guest DJ. The whole show has some pretty cool goodies like the original versions of "Police On My Back" and "Junco Partner". If you don't want to listen to the entire show you can skip forward to the 1 hour and 52 minute mark to where Joe's guest DJ session begins. This is a very fun and cool session which includes Joe talking about the album "Global A Go-Go" as well as how and why he came up with the phrase "Cool 'N Out". Joe plays the track "Minuit" performed by Earnest Ranglin & Baaba Maal which was used as the pre-show tune during the 2001 tour. Contributed to Strummer News by Rob Morgan.

  3. July 27, 2001 WFUV.org Whole Wide World w/ Rita Houston - This is a three hour show featuring Joe as a guest DJ in the last hour. Forward to approximately 1 hour 57 minutes for the beginning of the show with Joe which starts with Rita playing "Global A Go-Go". Thanks to Dan Ciotoli for contributing this to Strummer News.

  4. May 24, 2001 BBC - Radio4 "Happy Birthday Bob" Radio Show - Very cool radio show on Bob Dylan's 60th B-day where Joe does a version of "Blowin in the Wind" as well as Dylan's "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues". Joe talks about the influence of Bob Dylan on him as a musician along with guest Stevie Wonder. A must listen for any fan. Very cool!!!
