STREETCORE.
The last musical will and lyrical testament of joe strummer splits evenly into out and out rockers and downhome folk.It opens with the rousing coma girl, inspired by his daughter lola, and the biblical belter get down moses.two of the low-key stand outs, his acoustic version of marleys redemption song and an original ballad the long black shadow, were recorded at rick rubins home, with the later intended for johnny cash.but its silver and gold a reworking of a bobby charles song, that brings home the poignancy of this release with its closing line"ive got to hurry up before i get old"..perhaps joe knew it was coming?
