Bio

Simon Stafford, born November 6, 1967, became a Mescalero with the line-up change after the release of "Rock Art & the X-Ray Style". He has quickly become a fan favorite at live shows with his trombone playing on "Armagideon Time" and other tracks. An important part of rhythm section, his brooding bassline compliments the Mescaleros reggae tunes and Joe's live rambling perfectly. Notable tracks include the cover of Max Romeo's "Quarter Pound of I'cense" and "Bankrobber".
Simon's previous fame came with his work as a member of band Longpigs which was formed in Simon's hometown of Sheffield. He recently worked with former Longpig Richard Hawley on his solo album "Late Night Final" which was released in 2002.
